My services
I am trained as both a birth and post-natal doula, I have worked in Abu Dhabi and UK and I am now living in Bahrain and very excited about supporting women here.
My aim as a birth doula is to provide the couple with a safe and supportive atmosphere for labour and birth. I would meet with the couple to gain an understanding of the type of birth they desire and work with them by providing information and empowering the women for a positive birth. I am a continual presence during the labour and birth and therefore on hand to help with labour positions, massage and to support the couple in any informed decisions they chose to make. I will follow up with two post natal visits during which time we can discuss the birth and any other post natal issues there might be.

About me
"Having Jasmine as my birth doula was the best thing I could have possibly done. I hired Jasmine for my second baby, my first delivery was not ideal and I really wanted a more positive experience for my second baby. Jasmine worked with me while I was pregnant finding out what was important to me. She was an amazing support to me and my husband from the minute I had my first contraction, until 24 hours later when the baby was delivered exactly as I had hoped. She was incredible throughout; calm, strong, reassuring, knowledgeable, and so genuinely caring. I feel so fortunate that I am able to say giving birth (the second time) was a wonderful experience. I will cherish the memory forever, thanks to Jasmine."

Jasmine Smith: 34 years old, married to Mike and I have two young boys aged 3 (4 in January) and 2, and we have recently moved to Bahrain.
After having a doula present for my 1st birth and realising that it made such a huge difference to my labour (and how it would have progressed had I not had one) I felt it only natural to do the same for my second, I am still in touch with both these wonderful women and credit them with my decision to become a doula. I truly believe the saying ‘every woman deserves a doula.’
I had no idea what to expect from my birth, I just assumed (as most women do) that you went to hospital when you were ready and gave birth. It was only when I had a complication at seven months and looked into ‘birth’ that I was overwhelmed with just how many decisions could be made for me, possibly without my consent. It was then that I looked up ‘doula’ to mother the mother…. For me that means someone who is there for you, without judgment.
I believe that if you are empowered to make your own decisions, whatever they may be, then you will have a positive birth experience, and I get to have the honour of being at the birth, that has to be the best job satisfaction ever! |
