My services
I believe passionately in women and their body's ability to give birth – naturally. However, my aim as a Doula is to help you to have YOUR-kind-of-a-birth. I will inform you about the (real) choices you have, help you to make right birth related choices for YOU, and discuss the fears, doubts and/or previous, pleasant or unpleasant, birth experiences you might have had.
My birth package includes at least two antenatal visits, 24 hour on call support from 38 - 42 weeks, constant attendance during labour and birth, until you are settled after your first feed. Postnatally, at least one visit to discuss the birth. Telephone and email support throughout and for as long as you need it. Please contact me for birth package prices.
My postnatal package needs to be tailored according to your wants and needs. I will provide emotional and practical support to help you to adjust into your new role as a parent, giving you the time you need to bond with your baby and get the rest you need. Support may involve help with feeding, looking after baby while you get some rest, helping with other children, cooking a light meal or just being there to listen to you and alleviate any worries. Please contact me for hourly rates.

I have experience of the use of various natural pain relief methods such as reflexology, massage, homeopathy, acupressure, TENS and different relaxation techniques. I can suggest physiological positions and comfort measures to help labour progress and reduce the pain of labour. I also have many books and dvd's on pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding that I am happy to loan out.
Postnatally, I think it is invaluable to have the support of someone who can empathise with what you are going through as a new parent. The early days of parenting are well consuming and I hope to be able to take some of the burden off you and your partner so that you can enjoy this special time.

About me
I live in Helsinki and I am a proud mother of a wonderful boy, born in Apr 2006. When he was born the midwife in the Maternity Unit commented that his second name should be Lucky because of the way he was born: still in his sack when coming out ;). His birth was an extremely memorable experience, just as every birth is, I believe. There were emotions of all kinds going through my head, joy, misbelieve, sadness, happiness, doubts and relief, just to mention a few. Adjusting myself into motherhood has taken a long time and has not, in times, been easy. However, I must underline that I would not change a day!
I am currently working as a Textiles Teacher in two local schools, I practise reflexology in Kamppi, Helsinki, and work as a Doula. It would be my pleasure to walk along you (and your partner) the first steps of parenthood.
